Stefan Bradu, MD, PhD

Clinical Assistant Professor of Dermatology, SUNY-Downstate
Dr. Bradu is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dermatology with outstanding experience in the practice of advanced Medical, Aesthetic and Surgical Dermatology.He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery. Dr. Bradu has a solid and extensive background in a wide variety of dermatological treatments and procedures, and frequently attends advanced courses and professional meetings to offer his patients access to the most advanced dermatologic care that is available for both common and rare conditions of the skin, hair and nails.
Dr. Bradu takes particular pride in teaching Clinical Dermatology to the Dermatology residents from the State University of New York- Downstate Medical School, his alma mater. He has practiced Dermatology in Brooklyn, Long Island, Manhattan and Queens. His medical approach to patients was profoundly influenced by the main principle guiding health care in the hospital where he completed his Medical Internship (Winthrop Hospital, Long Island): "Care without compromise". His caring, polite, professional and competent staff adheres to his principle of treating our patients with the same compassion, care and respect as we would treat our parents, grandparents, siblings, and children.
Dr. Bradu holds a PhD in Molecular Biology, 2 international patents with promising implications for the diagnosis and treatment of human cancer, and collaborated during his research with various prestigious medical, pharmaceutical, cosmetic and biotech institutions.The focus of his research has been on the development and testing of anti- cancer, anti-aging & anti-oxidant agents and technologies. His solid clinical and scientific background in combination with "common sense" and integrity helps him to integrate evidence from the most recent clinical and basic science studies into the care of his patients, making him a unique and valuable resource of outstanding dermatologic care for his patients.
Dr. Bradu's excellent scientific and clinical dermatologic background allows him to better distinguish facts from myths in recently published studies, helping him to understand the strengths and limitations of most dermatological medications, cosmeceuticals and procedures better than most physicians, including most dermatologists. Dr. Bradu's credentials and Dermatology awards (including The William Montagna Award in 2001 and from The New York Academy of Medicine in 2004) reveal that he is a well- qualified, responsible, and skilled dermatologist, but they will not tell you enough about his main strengths: taking excellent care of his patients while remaining kind approachable, emphatic, sharp and wise in the face of adversity.
